The enchanting fishing village of Kini
Aposperitis - Rooms & Apartments for Rent - Kini Syros

We welcome you to the enchanting fishing village of Kini, one of the hidden jewels of Syros. This picturesque village is surrounded by the blue Aegean and offers an atmosphere of tranquility and natural beauty.

Kini is home to a few tavernas and cafes clustered around a very charming sandy beach. The presence of local residents, around four hundred, throughout the year gives the village an authentic and warm feeling. Kini is located about eight kilometers away from the main town of Syros, Ermoupolis.

When you look towards the right side of the bay, you will discover a small harbor. There, some traditional fishing boats anchor and offer fresh fish, which you can enjoy in the taverns of the area.

From Kini, you have the opportunity to walk around the coast and reach the small beach of Lotos, or go a little higher to reach Delfini Cove. In these locations, you will discover a small bar and a tavern. If you have the energy for more exploring, you can continue to Varvarousa Beach, a ray of untapped beauty.

During the summer, a small boat offers excursions to the northern beaches. These picturesque, secluded beaches with difficult access offer a unique experience. It's like having a beach to yourself.

To the west, Kini is also known for its breathtaking sunsets. You can sit at one of the beach bars, enjoy a coffee or a drink and watch the unique appearance of the sun as it sets in the Aegean sea.

The locals of the village are engaged in agriculture, growing fruits and vegetables. Along the small roads that lead to the beach, you will come across lemon, orange, olive and fig trees. Be sure to buy local products such as oil, wine, capers, honey and fresh eggs from the local farmers or from the local shop.

The beach at Kini welcomes you with calm waters, offering ideal conditions for swimming. Some bars and taverns provide sunbeds and umbrellas at the edge of the sea, creating a natural shade for ultimate relaxation.

Along the beach, you will discover the aquarium, which captures the history of local fishing. Also, you cannot miss seeing the Mermaid, the sculpture by G. Xenoulis, which serves as a monument to the sailors who lost their lives at sea. The sculpture is located at the end of the road that leads from Hermoupoli to Kini and tells you that you have reached your destination.

Explore Kini by public transport from the central town of Syros, Hermoupoli, or opt for a taxi for a quick and pleasant journey, taking around 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can rent a car or moped to enjoy exploring the village and surrounding areas.
